Wagner’s epic and exhilarating saga of gods and monsters as you’ve never heard it before

Maazel’s version for orchestra of Wagner’s Ring Cycle condenses the 15-hour adventure into a single 70-minute work. Yet, it doesn’t contain a single bar of music that didn’t derive from Wagner’s original. Featuring some of the most innovative and powerful music ever written, in this version it is experienced through a new lens.

Vadym Kholodenko joins as soloist in the Queensland premiere of Australian composer Carl Vine’s Piano Concerto No.3, which features brilliant technical passages alongside long and lyrical melodies.

Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) welcomes guest conductor Pietari Inkinen for this exciting program.
