Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Overview

Inspired by the whimsical worlds of Lewis Carroll, the swashbuckling spirit of Errol Flynn, and the environmental legacy of the Rainbow Warrior, Real and Diverse Ensemble (RAD) returns to QPAC with their next sensational adventure.

Aboard the unshakeable pirate ship The Glory, what begins as an ordinary day quickly spirals into chaos. Over one unforgettable afternoon, the crew must contend with the last great Siren mermaid, a band of ruthless oil moguls, and a mysterious blind Tree Man who may hold the key to their survival.

Real and Diverse, Brisbane’s acclaimed inclusive ensemble, bring their signature fusion of imaginative storytelling, heartfelt performance, and playful theatricality. Featuring new music by esteemed composer Nicole Murphy, Pirates of the High Trees invites audiences into a world where pirates grow courage like vines and villains are undone by the very canopy they seek to conquer.
