Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Overview

Link-Up (Qld) and QPAC are proud to present this free community event.

Each year, we come together to mark the anniversary of the National Apology. It is an important time to acknowledge how generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have been affected by past Government policies and practices.

Join us for a meaningful gathering that includes light refreshments, guest speakers, and live performances. This event is an opportunity to reflect on the significance of the National Apology, honour the resilience of Stolen Generations survivors and descendants, and contribute to the ongoing journey of truth, healing, and connection.

The program will feature special performances by Jaymon Bob (Ghungalu) and the Murri School Dancers. The event will be hosted by Geoff Richardson PSM (Meriam, Kuku Yalanji/Djabugay), with guest speakers Professor Gregory Richardson (Waanyi, Jaru) and Commissioner Natalie Lewis (Gamilaraay).

Since 1984, Link-Up (Qld) has supported Stolen Generations survivors and descendants on their healing journeys, fostering a sense of identity and belonging through reunification with culture, country and kin.

To register for this event or for more information, visit Link-Up (Qld).
