Overview

A season’s crescendo – don’t miss the final note!

The Queensland Youth Orchestra (QYO) Finale concert is the crowning celebration of a remarkable year of dedication and artistry by the talented musicians of QYO. As they say farewell to 2025, they invite you to join them for this extraordinary musical event, showcasing all eight of their ensembles.

The performance will feature the Junior String Ensembles 1 & 2, conducted by Chen Yang and Cherie Deacon; the Wind Ensemble, led by David Law; and Queensland Youth Orchestra 3, conducted by Rachel Howley. There will also be The Big Band, directed by Bohdan Davidson; Queensland Youth Orchestra 2, conducted by David Deacon; Wind Symphony, led by Rob McWilliams; and the Queensland Youth Symphony, under the baton of Simon Hewett.

Over 540 young musicians will grace the stage, offering a vibrant spectrum of musical genres and styles. From the sweeping grandeur of symphonies to the intricate beauty of string ensembles, the bold compositions of wind orchestras, and the lively rhythms of a big band, this concert promises something for every musical taste.
