Overview

MARINA steps back onto Australian soil this February, for the first time since 2011, when she performed at Falls Festival, Field Day, and a headline show at Sydney’s Factory Theatre. Her return arrives with the success of PRINCESS OF POWER, a euphoric, high-energy exploration of healing, empowerment, and self-reclamation.

Written during a period of deep personal reflection, PRINCESS OF POWER represents a turning point for the platinum-selling artist. Where 2021’s Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land looked outward at a fractured world, this new chapter turns inward – embracing vulnerability as strength, transforming pain into power, and celebrating the radical optimism of love.

Now releasing independently through her own label, Queenie Records, in partnership with BMG, MARINA sheds old expectations and steps fully into her own. The album pulses with disco-lit electro pop and lyrical declarations of freedom, feminine energy, and love. Tracks like “BUTTERFLY”, “CUPID’S GIRL”, and “CUNTISSIMO” capture a woman reborn – thriving wholly on her own terms.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2009, MARINA has released five acclaimed albums, including Electra Heart (2012), which debuted at Number 1 on the UK’s Official Charts; FROOT (2015); Love + Fear (2019), which landed Top 5 in the UK and Top 10 in the U.S.; and Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land (2021), featuring the Ivor Novello-nominated hit “Man’s World.”

With PRINCESS OF POWER, MARINA is not just making music – she’s building a future rooted in authenticity, creativity, and courage. It’s MARINA as you’ve never seen her, yet never more herself, right here On the Banks in Brisbane.

Brisbane-born songwriter Mallrat joins MARINA as the special guest at On the Banks. She has been breaking barriers since her debut, amassing over half a billion streams, a #1 ARIA charting album, sold-out international tours, Platinum certifications, and collaborations with artists including Azealia Banks, BENEE, The Chainsmokers, and Cub Sport. Mallrat has performed alongside global icons, appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, headlined major festivals like Reading & Leeds and Austin City Limits, and earned widespread critical acclaim from NPR, NME, Billboard, The New York Times, and more.
