Internationally renowned cellist Mischa Maisky returns to Brisbane for a highly anticipated recital, joined by his daughter, distinguished pianist Lily Maisky. Celebrated for his rich, resonant tone, and praised by ABC Classic as “one of the most flamboyant and communicative personalities in classical music”. Mischa Maisky is admired for his emotional honesty, unmistakable intensity, and an extraordinary catalogue of acclaimed recordings. A favourite student of Mstislav Rostropovich, he carries forward one of the great cello legacies.
Together with Lily, whose artistry and sensitivity perfectly complement his own, the duo offers an evening of warmth, depth, and expressive power. Their onstage rapport is as captivating as the repertoire they bring to life.
