Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

Overview

Join us for this very special Gala showcasing repertoire highlights from Artistic Director Li Cunxin AO’s magnificent 11-year tenure at Queensland Ballet.

This celebratory season features excerpts from his most magical memories between 2013 and 2023, as he led the Company through a transformational period of growth and sparkling success.

Experience the romance of a Cinderella pas de deux (Ben Stevenson OBE) and Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s iconic Romeo and Juliet Balcony pas de deux, alongside the evocative Tango from Dracula (Krzysztof Pastor). Summertime from Derek Deane OBE’s Strictly Gershwin and the sizzling Sympathy of the Devil from Rooster (Christopher Bruce) return to the stage, as well as excerpts from Swan Lake (Ben Stevenson OBE), Dangerous Liaisons (Liam Scarlett), Glass Concerto (Greg Horsman) and more.

From classical masterpieces to dynamic contemporary favourites, don’t miss this exclusive season of signature pieces that reflect Li’s creativity and innovation at the helm of Queensland Ballet.
