Queensland Performing Arts Centre presents
BOLSHOI BALLET
QPAC INTERNATIONAL SERIES 2019
SPARTACUS
Moscow's mighty Bolshoi Ballet returns to Australia with its grandiose epic, Spartacus.
With its famous Khachaturyan score, Spartacus is the dramatic story of the leader of a band of slaves uprising against cruel Roman rule and has long been considered the company’s signature ballet.

JEWELS
Jewels is a three-act ballet choreographed by George Balanchine and inspired by the beauty and artistry of the gem stones Balanchine observed in the stores of New York jewellers Van Cleef & Arpels.
Using music from different composers and incorporating different musical and balletic styles, Jewels celebrates the three cities and dance schools which forged the aesthetic and style of the esteemed choreographer.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners
We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors - our First Nations Peoples - gives strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, towards creating a better Queensland.
