Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, towards creating a better Queensland.

QPAC New Performing Arts Venue - Exterior Concept Only

New Performing Arts Venue

Currently under construction, QPAC's new performing arts venue will deliver a 1500 seat theatre to meet existing audience and producer demand and support continued growth of the performing arts in Queensland.

With recent annual attendance of more than 1.2 million, QPAC has been the proud home of live performance in Queensland for almost 40 years and stages over 1200 performances every year. The new theatre offers the potential to host an additional 300,000 visitors each year when it is fully operational.

Delivery of the theatre is being managed by the Queensland Government’s Department of Housing, Planning and Public Works Project Delivery Team on behalf of QPAC and Arts Queensland. For more information about the project including the benefits and timeline, please visit the Arts Queensland website.

The new theatre will be completed in late 2025 and will be open to the public in early 2026.
