Apology 2022

Link-Up (Qld) Aboriginal Corporation provides a service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have been affected by past government policies and practices related to forced removal, fostering, institutionalisation and adoption.

Link-Up (Qld) has been operating since 1984 and are a dedicated team who support and assist clients and community by working together as a trauma informed workplace providing a professional, confidential and culturally sensitive service addressing historical institutionalised trauma and by reuniting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have endured enforced separation from their families and support them on their journey home.

They conduct family history research and tracing, and facilitate healing activities, community education sessions and public awareness events. Link-Up (Qld) works to influence policy and keep the challenges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have faced and are facing on the agenda.

QPAC is to be a host Venue for National Apology Event (private event Link Up (QLD) invites only). National Apology Day encourages remembrance of – and apology to – Stolen Generations and those whose lives have been blighted by past government policies of forced child removal and assimilation. Find out more about the event here.

QPAC First Nations

Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors – our First Nations Peoples – gives strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, towards creating a better Queensland.
