Maggie Walsh is a Bwgcolman woman from Palm Island in North Queensland, currently residing in Inala. She is a published poet. Her first book of poetry, Sunset, was published by Vagabond Press in 2016. Maggie has read her poetry at Sydney Writers Festival and Newcastle Writers Festival to name a few.
Maggie has done stand-up comedy over the decades at family parties, weddings and gatherings. She entered the Deadly Funny Competition in 2018, and made the finals representing Queensland. She enjoyed the experience so much, that she entered again in 2019.
