The national premiere of Creedence Clearwater Inspired is headed to our Concert Hall this 18 June, celebrating the music of iconic American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Creedence Clearwater Inspired producer, Phil Bathols, has brought a raft of popular music shows to QPAC, but is particularly pumped to be bringing this brand-new concert to our stage.
He’d long been planning a concert to celebrate the incomparable Creedence Clearwater, a band with a vast catalogue of memorable hits that are loved to this day by people of all ages.
“I undertook a search to find the right artists to bring this idea to fruition. It was not about trying to imitate the band, but to play their music to the highest level and I was thrilled to find the fantastic Western Australian based band, Proud Mary,” Phil says.
“Led by founding members of the award-winning Baby Animals, this is a group of superb musicians who are positively the best I have seen in bringing the magic of Creedence’s renowned music to life on stage.”
Here’s a small sample of Proud Mary’s work:
If you need any further reason to snaffle tickets to this show, here’s five reasons why this concert should be in your diary:
One – It’s the first time you’ll see a full-scale concert in Australia dedicated to celebrating the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival, hailed as one of the most influential and short-lived bands in modern music.
Two – In just five years the band released six platinum albums and created a global legacy that endures to this day with songs that remain staples of radio playlists the world over.
Three – No matter your age you will definitely know many of their hit songs, including “Fortunate Son”, “Proud Mary”, “Have you Ever Seen The Rain”, “Bad Moon Rising”, “Down On The Corner”, “Up Around the Bend”, “Run Through the Jungle”, and “The Midnight Special”.
Four – If you needed a reason to get out your flannel shirt – this is it! The members of the band were trend setters wearing flannel shirts to fit with their workmanlike image and inspired other bands to follow suit including Minutemen, Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
Five – Creedence Clearwater Inspired promises an unforgettable live music experience for Creedence fans as Australia’s own Proud Mary authentically celebrates the timeless music contribution of original band members, John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford.
If that’s not enough, check out these 20 reasons why Creedence Clearwater Revival is the greatest as explained by Double J.
