Summit Fanfare, World Premiere
Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3, Soloist Shaun Lee-Chen
Strauss Alpine Symphony

The Queensland Youth Symphony brass and percussion sections feature in the premiere performance of Katherine Summit’s Fanfare. We welcome the brilliant violinist Shaun Lee-Chen, Concertmaster of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, as soloist for the first time with QYS in Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3. Strauss’s exhilarating Alpine Symphony is a majestic musical depiction of a dawn to dusk hike in the alps and the wanderer’s confrontation with the overwhelming forces of nature.
