Alfred Hitchcock’s supreme comedy of suspense live on stage!
Adapted by Carolyn Burns. Directed by Simon Phillips.
The box office smash hit comes to QPAC for the very first time!
The magic of film and theatre combine in this incredible production. Don’t miss Alfred Hitchcock’s supreme comedy of suspense live on stage! Two weeks only in the Lyric Theatre, QPAC.
Every twist, every thrill, every hairbreadth escape from Hitchcock’s original genius work is retained for this stunning new stage adaptation from director Simon Phillips and adapted for the stage by Carolyn Burns.
Roger O. Thornhill is a suave and successful advertising executive, abducted by thugs who insist he is a man called George Kaplan. Chaos ensues. When they don’t believe him, that’s infuriating. When they try to kill him, that’s frightening. And when they pin a murder on him, that's time to run!
From New York to South Dakota, Thornhill is chased by spies, Feds, crop-dusting planes and the inevitable cool blonde. North by Northwest is a lightning paced thriller that mixes glamour with espionage for a truly irresistible cocktail.
The talented cast includes acclaimed Australian actors Matt Day in the leading role of man on the run, Roger O. Thornhill and Amber McMahon as femme fatale Eve Kendall, both reprising their leading roles from the Melbourne seasons of North by Northwest. The stellar cast also includes Queensland actors Christen O’Leary (Maggie and various roles) and Leon Cain (Janitor and various other roles), alongside Abigail McKern (Mrs Thornhill), Robert Menzies (Professor), Tom Davey (Leonard), Nicholas Bell (Newsreader), Peter Houghton (Gruzinski), Ezra Bix (Budnikov)and Roddy Peters (Bell Boy).
