The Meg Burstow Quartet will present Meg’s jazz-inflected original music, interspersed with some of their favourite jazz standards. The group is a new project, formed in 2017 by four emerging musicians Matthew Copley (voice/trumpet), Meg Burstow (keys), Evan Osborne (bass), and Mark Davies (drums), who are currently studying together at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU).

Meg Burstow is a young pianist/composer/arranger from rural Queensland, who at 16 was awarded the Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship and the Victoria Chalmers Education Award from QCGU, as well as her AMusA in Classical Piano. Meg performs regularly with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra, and has worked with distinguished conductors such as Andrew Mogrelia and Natalia Raspopova. She has toured interstate as a member of the New England Conservatorium of Music Piano Trio, presenting their educational Chamber Music in Schools program to schools in rural and remote New South Wales. Meg is keenly anticipating future performances as the pianist in the 2017 Queensland Youth Orchestra Big Band, and has been relishing the opportunity to create original music for and with her quartet.
