Two magical worlds collide in this exciting double bill presented for the first time in over 40 years by Ballet Theatre Queensland.

On the shores of a mystical lake Prince Siegfried declares his undying love for the beautiful Princess Odette, condemned by the sorcerer von Rothbart to be a swan for all but a few hours each night.

The glorious waltzes of Johann Strauss Jnr will then take you to a Viennese girls’ graduation ball of the 1840s. The cadets of the citys military academy have also been invited, and flirtations, high-spirited dances, and a secret romance are the delightful result.

Staged by Artistic Director Clare Morehen, showcasing the talents of Queensland’s finest young dancers, Swan Lake Act II & Graduation Ball will delight audiences of all ages.

Staging and additional choreography Clare Morehen
Choreography Lev Ivanov (Swan Lake) and David Lichine (Graduation Ball)
Set design Graham Maclean (Swan Lake) and Bill Haycock (Graduation Ball)
Costume design Carmel Wenck
Lighting design Glenn Hughes

Before every matinee performance a storyteller will read the classic tale of Swan Lake to children, so they enter the theatre full of eager anticipation.  Storytelling will be outside of Door One from an hour prior
to the performances starting.
