Be the first to see THREE incredible Australian premieres from superstar choreographers Hofesh Shechter, Melanie Lane and Jack Lister.
THREE represents a series of incredible firsts for Australasian Dance Collective, including our very first mainstage performance under the company’s new name (formerly Expressions Dance Company).
Brisbane’s own rising star of the choreographic world, Jack Lister, fuses dance and visual art to create not only a stunning mainstage performance but a unique foyer experience. Lister has also joined the collective as a company dancer, from Queensland Ballet.
Melanie Lane is one of Australia’s strongest female choreographic voices, her works seamlessly blending elegance with edgy physicality. Sexy and cool, she will be joined by long-term musical collaborator, Clark, in this must-see production.
After rave reviews in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, Queenslanders finally get their chance to see the work of London-based choreographer, Hofesh Shechter.
Presented in association with Hofesh Shechter Company, Australasian Dance Collective will unveil the Australian premiere of Cult — the work that propelled Shechter into his globally-renowned career. Instinctive and raw, it is a powerful illustration of his unique and acclaimed choreography and is the first time Shechter’s work has been performed in Queensland.
SPECIAL NOTE: MATINEE PERFORMANCE – THURSDAY 2 APRIL, 2020 (1PM):
Please note this performance is a special Insight Matinee where audiences will be treated to a pre-show talk with Artistic Director, Amy Hollingsworth, discussing the creative process behind these three very different dance works, as well as the technical and staging elements.
Audiences will then get to see all three incredible works and experience a “live changeover” between the last two works. Hollingsworth will answer audience questions while the set and staging is transformed in front of their eyes. A rare and exclusive opportunity to see what really goes on “behind the curtain”.
The duration of this Insight Matinee performance is 1 hour 50 minutes.
School group bookings also go in the running to win a personalised workshop for their school with a company dancer. Book now through QPAC Group Sales on (07) 3840 7466 or email@example.com for your chance to win.
Please note that post-show Q&A sessions with cast and creatives will be held after 7:30pm Thursday, 2 April performance and 2pm Saturday, 4 April 2020 matinee performance.
