Sonya Lifschitz, piano
Lisa Moore, piano
In the first of our Twilight Notes series for 2018, virtuosi pianists Lisa Moore and Sonya Lifschitz join forces to present a powerhouse journey on two grand pianos featuring masterful music by J.S. Bach, Martin Bresnick and John Adams.
Hear the intricate ingenuity of Bach’s celebrated Goldberg Variations afresh, as this duo builds a kaleidoscopic tapestry of colour, rhythm and touch with luminous clarity.
Paired with bold, new American music – the mysteriously evocative Handwork by Martin Bresnick and John Adams’ rollicking jazz-infused Hallelujah Junction – Sonya and Lisa portray an electrifying and generous musical dialogue with explosive, sonic resonance.
Twilight has fallen. Exquisite musical discoveries await.
