“The best musical of this century” (New York Times) return…
Ray Chen, violin
Saint-Saëns Violin Concerto No.3 in B minor
Brahms Symphony No.2 in D
Ray Chen grew up in Queensland and we are always delighted when he returns to his home state to share his gift for high-wire virtuosity on his original Stradivarius instrument. In these concerts he will be performing Saint-Saëns’ 3rd Violin Concerto, a crowd pleasing showpiece if there ever was one. Then his partner-in-art for the evening, conductor Eduardo Strausser – described by New Revolution as “a real force of nature” – will lead the Orchestra into the serene and radiant world of Brahms’ Second Symphony.
