It’s “Time to Say Goodbye” to 2021

The Queensland Pops is thrilled to be able to present a New Year's Eve concert for the 37th consecutive year. Maestro Patrick Pickett CSM has crafted a concert with a Carnival of Venice atmosphere packed with virtuosity, colour and movement – as is the Pops tradition – and we’re sure you’ll agree it’s the perfect occasion to celebrate the end of this year of upheaval and uncertainty and look forward to 2022 with optimism and joy.

The Pops lights a tantalising fuse of excitement as the countdown to January 1st begins in earnest. Joining Patrick and the fabulous musicians of the Queensland Pops Orchestra are a star cast of exceptional and gifted musicians. For NYE 2021 we are proud to welcome internationally renowned Tenor Rosario La Spina, Mezzo-Soprano Milijana Nikolic and Dramatic Soprano Elizabeth Lewis.

This highly regarded trio will bring highlights of operatic music to the concerts, with Patrick’s favourite of all time — Cosi fan tutte: Soave sai if vento. Ballroom Dancers will again swoon across the stage in a graceful Viennese waltz.

No Pops NYE concert is complete without a complementary surge of adrenalin! Following the lavish stage spectacular head up to the QPAC rooftop to hear Piper Bruce Grice – who will pipe in the New Year at the exclusive Black-tie function, with champagne and nibbles as we kiss 2021 goodbye.

Tickets are very limited so book now! As has become the tradition, there will be two performances of the New Year’s Eve Gala concert – the first at 5:30pm, and the second at 9pm.

An orchestra that loves the music it plays – and the absolute joy it brings – is what makes the Queensland Pops Orchestra such a vital, integral part of the Queensland performing arts scene. Maestro Patrick Pickett, his loyal artistic and technical support staff, the outstanding specialist artists and the dedicated players that comprise this wonderful orchestra invite you to sit back and be thrilled by another unforgettable night of colourful, superlative music, performed as only the Queensland Pops Orchestra can. Come and join the Pops for a very Happy New Year 2022!
