Connection to Place and Significance of Water to First Nations peoples lies at the heart of this exhibition. Seven much loved and respected artists, whose homelands fall within Queensland’s seven watershed regions and the ancient stories that flow through them, are represented in this space. As they speak of individual journeys and special places, they acknowledge the First Nations story-lines that keep our all-important water-systems culturally activated and ‘standing up alive’.

Presented by QPAC’s Clancestry – A Celebration of Country
We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors – our First Nations Peoples – gives strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, towards creating a better Queensland.
