Discover what’s on at QPAC, from musicals, dance, ballet,…
In 2020, the Black Lives Matter movement leapt out of the United States and proliferated around the globe; Australia was no exception, but our movement has its own unique history and identity.
At the heart of BLAKTIVISM is a collaborative set starring legendary musical activists that have redefined the voice of activism music across decades and to the present day, performing together as the galvanised chorus of an unstoppable movement.
Stand up and join Bart Willoughby, Tasman Keith, Emma Donovan, Deline Briscoe, Barkaa and Ancestress in this one night only event.
Issues such as Indigenous Sovereignty, Police Brutality and State Oppression are at the core of the Blak Activist movements in this country. BLAKTIVISM presents this truth telling by a powerful line-up of living legends and rising voices of First Nations musical activists.
Yalanji Artistic Director, Deline Briscoe and Musical Director, Airileke (PNG) create a place where healing, culture, fire, power, truth, beauty, light and shade are given space.
7pm – 7:30pm: Healing Ceremony
