The QPAC Chair’s Fund

Bringing to light the wonders of the performing arts

The QPAC Chair’s Fund was established in 2016 by Mr Chris Freeman AM, former Chairman of the Board of Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

The QPAC Chair's Fund aims to provide cultural exposure for children who are experiencing personal or financial hardship; children who are living with a disability and children living in remote or rural Queensland. The QPAC Chair’s Fund intents to generate opportunities for individuals to gain access to live performance in the hope to increase artistic literacy and learning across Queensland. The cultural packages consist of tickets to a performance, accompanied by lunch or dinner.

“Never has the need been more urgent for children to engage in live performance through the arts. QPAC offers opportunities to experience the breadth and beauty of the human imagination through a variety of arts experiences. There is just one window in life – the window called childhood – to set down the foundations for a well-balanced and healthy adult. The Chair’s Fund helps build creative, empathetic and well balanced children through the arts.”

Ms Jennene Greenall, Director, A Spectrum Connected

“It was a truly amazing experience that I know each girl will carry with them through their life. They all asked me to thank you for offering this to them.”

Ms Toni Clarence, Guidance Officer, Goondiwindi State High School

“Unfortunately most young people living in a rural community do not have the capacity to attend such an event whether it be due to distance, knowledge, financial reasons or just not something they do. I am extremely grateful that Megan and QPAC and Griffith were able to put together such a wonderful cultural experience.”

Mrs Jen Heynemann, Recipient of QPAC Chair’s Fund

“We had a fantastic night last night, the kids had a chance to experience some interaction with adults that were interested in talking to them. The show was amazing and my youngest daughter in particular was blown away by the whole experience. This is a night we will remember and cherish. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
