The Queensland Performing Arts Centre encourages creative potential and enriches cultural life in Queensland. QPAC has two main functions – as a venue for hire and as a producer of cultural product across a variety of art forms. An exceptional and rarely available opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated individual to join QPAC in the full time permanent role of Events Manager.
Reporting to the Executive Manager – Production Services, the main focus of this important role is being the single point of contact to venue hirers and providing exceptional customer service for the management and delivery of events. Key functions of the position include:
Establishing a ‘point of contact’ with the hirer and liaising with hirers to ascertain and evaluate requirements for their individual event;
Managing service delivery for events as allocated to ensure client focussed service from all Production Services departments and other areas of operations as applicable;
Communicating hirer’s event production requirements to all QPAC Production Services departments;
Negotiating production budgets and resources for event requirements;
Evaluating service delivery post-event with hirers and provide feedback to the organisation through formal processes;
Liaising closely with Venues, Food & Beverage Operations, Marketing, and all other departments to maximise service to hirers;
Assisting with the research and management of special projects as required;
Participating in strategic and business planning processes, management meetings, industry-wide networking and other activities;
Undertaking familiarisation and technical tours of theatres with prospective clients and VIP tours for the organisation as required; and
Ensuring best practice policies and procedures are implemented and upheld through industry benchmarking and networking.
We are seeking to appoint a customer-service oriented individual with suitable entertainment industry experience. Additional key criteria include demonstrated event management skills and the ability to plan resources; excellent communication and negotiation skills; a well-developed consultancy style approach; the ability to interpret technical requirements, designs and specifications and demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers. Tertiary Production & Stage Management qualifications, experience in a multi-venue arts centre and touring and commercial theatre experience will all be highly regarded.

An exceptional opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated individual to join QPAC in the casual role of Kitchen Hand.
In this position you will be required to maintain a clean, hygienic environment throughout kitchen and dining areas within QPAC’s Green Room and Cafes, and assist with food preparation as required.
To be successful in this position you must possess: · Experience cleaning in an industrial or commercial environment. · Initiative and flexibility to undertake a variety of tasks. · Experience in providing high quality customer service. · Ability to work across a 7-day roster. · Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced team.

qtix is the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s successful ticketing service provider and has over 20 years' experience in providing superior ticketing services to clients in Queensland. An exceptional opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated individual to join QPAC in the full time role of qtix Event Builder.
Reporting to the Client Services Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the building of events in the qtix computerised ticketing system ensuring the provision of an efficient, cost-effective and high quality service. Key functions of the position include:
Accurately building and maintaining events/performances on the computerised ticketing system
Developing event builds for premium ticketing, extras and other packages
Liaising with internal and external clients to provide input into event and venue builds
Coordinating the assessment and delivery of reporting requirements for internal and external clients
Training relevant staff in the event build process and creating systems and training programs
Assist in the coordination, decision-making and assessment of the subscriptions process
Assist in the upgrading of software and making system enhancements/developments to the qtix sales network
We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced, customer-service oriented individual with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines, and the ability to provide support, problem identification and problem resolution to users. In addition, a high level of proficiency in the use of computers and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential in this role.
