Traffic Updates and Notices

QPAC is located in a vibrant part of the city, with many events occurring, particularly on the weekends.

Busy crowds, traffic changes and Queensland Rail track work can sometimes cause travel delays, which may affect your arrival time at QPAC. To avoid missing the start of your performance, we strongly suggest you plan your transport and leave home early to avoid any delays and arrive in good time to enjoy your show.

Now – 9 November 2014

  • Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) car park is closed
  • Performing Arts and other Cultural Precinct car parks are open

  • Russell Street is closed on Sunday 2 November for a festival; however no impact is expected to pedestrian access to the Playhouse.

10–13 November 2014

  • Allow more time and carefully plan your journey by checking information on the G20 and Brisbane City Council websites AS WELL AS any websites recommended below dependent on your method of travel
  • Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) car park is closed
  • Performing Arts and other Cultural Precinct car parks are open

  • Progressive road closures, changes to transport and limited car parking around South Brisbane during this time, but QPAC is still accessible
  • Trains will run through, but not stop at South Brisbane Station, the station immediately adjacent to QPAC. You should consider a combination of train and bus or train and walk depending on your personal needs and the direction you are travelling from. We recommend using the Translink journey planner and continue to check Translink for any unexpected delays or changes right up until your journey. Further assistance on Translink Services can also be obtained by calling 13 12 30.
  • Buses will run as normal up until 7pm on Thursday 13 November. After this time, sections of the busway will be closed. We recommend using the Translink journey planner and continue to check Translink for any unexpected delays or changes right up until your journey.   • No change to ferry and CityCat timetables
  • Traffic managers will be on the roads at key points to assist you with available set down and pick up zones near QPAC. Set down for patrons who have mobility concerns can request alternate drop off. Please see More information for patrons with individual needs.
  • Taxi services will have a designated drop off zone allocated outside of road closure zones. Your taxi will know where the closest required drop off zone is for QPAC.

14, 15 and 16 November 2014

  • The Brisbane Cultural Precinct including QPAC, QAGoMA, the State Library and Queensland Museum, is closed. Car parks including Performing Arts, Art Gallery Museum and Stanley Place car parks will be closed 7am Friday 14 November to 8.30am Sunday 16 November.

17-22 November 2014
