Traffic Updates and Notices
QPAC is located in a vibrant part of the city, with many events occurring, particularly on the weekends.
Busy crowds, traffic changes and Queensland Rail track work can sometimes cause travel delays, which may affect your arrival time at QPAC. To avoid missing the start of your performance, we strongly suggest you plan your transport and leave home early to avoid any delays and arrive in good time to enjoy your show.
Saturday 27 September 2014: Road Closures
Brisbane Festival will stage the spectacular Sunsuper Riverfire at South Bank from 7pm on Saturday 27 September 2014. There will be a number of road closures around QPAC on that afternoon and evening that will disrupt traffic to:
• Victoria Bridge (4pm – 11pm)
• Goodwill and Kurilpa Bridges (5pm - 7.30pm)
• Grey Street (4pm – 11.30pm)
We anticipate that the Cultural Centre car parks will be full from 11am. Patrons who have pre-paid car parking will be able to access the car park via William Jolly Bridge and Stanley Place or via Montague Road. A height restriction of 2.3m applies. Exit of car parks prior to 11pm will also be via Stanley Place.
There is no stopping all day in Grey Street and the taxi rank outside QPAC on Grey Street will be closed. Taxis will operate from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre taxi rank in Glenelg Street.
If you are attending a performance on this day, we recommend you plan to arrive early and consider catching public transport.
Sunsuper Riverfire is a spectacular fireworks event and an important part of the Brisbane entertainment calendar. If you are attending the evening performance at QPAC, you may wish to arrive early for your performance to watch the show from your theatre foyer.
PLEASE NOTE THE START TIME OF YOUR SHOW AND ALLOW SUFFICIENT TIME TO COVER DELAYS.
