Mobility difficulties

If you require assistance due to mobility difficulties, please call 136 246 and notify qtix box office staff at the time of booking.

QPAC has a number of wheelchairs available for patron use. These are available from each designated patron drop off area listed below.

Parking and drop off

There are drop off  zones for patrons at Grey Street (for Lyric Theatre and Concert Hall), Russell Street (for Playhouse) and outside the Cremorne Theatre.  See map [PDF 273KB] for further details.

For the convenience of patrons who have difficulty walking, a specific set down area is open in the QPAC basement 90 minutes prior to and one hour after performances in the QPAC Concert Hall and Lyric Theatre.

Entry to the set down area is from the tunnel entrance at Grey Street. Please note that the entrance has a height restriction of two metres. Drivers will be assisted through the boom gate to the basement level. After dropping off their passenger/s, drivers will then proceed up the ramp to Little Stanley Street. A right hand turn will take drivers to car parks within the Cultural Precinct, South Bank, including pre-paid parking at the Riverside (Performing Arts) car park; a left hand turn will take drivers to Melbourne Street from which they can proceed to car parks at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre or South Bank.

The basement set down area will also be open for one hour after performances, with entry again from Grey Street.

Kindly respect the needs of people with mobility difficulties and only use the set down areas if dropping off patrons in wheelchairs or who have difficulty walking. An alternative set down point is located in Grey Street just 50 metres from our main foyer. Refer to the map for more information.

Please be aware that the set down areas have limited capacity and we recommend you allow sufficient time for possible delays.

Parking for people with mobility difficulties is available in all car parks.

Wheelchair seating

All QPAC venues have dedicated seating options for patrons with a disability and their guests.

In order to ensure the best possible experience for patrons, it is essential we obtain all necessary information at the time of booking. For this reason, bookings for wheelchair seating can only be made with one of our Box Office staff over the telephone or in person.

Bookings can be made in person or by calling 136 246 from 9am to 8:30pm Monday to Saturday.

Guide, hearing and assistance dogs

QPAC welcomes patrons accompanied by guide, hearing or assistance dogs and our staff are trained to meet the needs of support dogs and their handlers.

Please notify our Box Office staff at the time of your booking if you are visiting QPAC accompanied by your support dog.

Companion Card

QPAC is an affiliate of the Queensland Government’s Companion Card program. A Companion Card is issued to a person with a disability who has a lifelong need for attendant care support in order to participate in community activities and attend venues.

As an affiliate of the Companion Card program, QPAC provides Companion Card holders with a second ticket for their chosen companion at no cost.

Access to the Companion Card program is only available to Companion Card holders when booking tickets in person, or calling qtix box office on 136 246. For more information on the Companion Card program, visit the Department of Communities.

Hearing in the theatre

All theatres are equipped with Sennheiser Infra-Red Sound Reinforcement. This system can assist patrons with all levels of hearing impairment including hearing aids.

The Sennheiser equipment can be obtained, free of charge, from any cloakroom.

Please notify qtix box office staff when making a booking and our Front of House staff will ensure the system is ready for your collection when you arrive.
