My Fair Lady is a musical based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion and with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The show's 1956 Broadway production was a smash hit, setting a new record for the longest run of any major theatre production in history. Now more than a half-century later, My Fair Lady is one of the most beloved and popular musical theatre works.
This production will feature some of Australia's best known Opera performers including Reg Livermore (Higgins) Taryn Fiebig (Eliza), Nancye Hayes (Mrs Higgins), John Wood (Doolittle), Rhys McConnochie (Pickering), Matthew Robinson (Freddy) and Adele Johnson (Mrs Pearce), supported by some of Brisbane's finest orchestral musicians.
