Calling all 14-17 year old original singer/songwriters/guitarists
SING PLAY LEARN
fRETfEST at QPAC is a unique learning and performance opportunity specifically designed by the music industry for 14-17 year old guitarist-singer-songwriters at the early stages of their careers.
Over a series of 8 weeks, fRETfEST participants will hear from industry professionals in the areas of intellectual property rights, marketing and promotion, the digital landscape, stage craft, the local and national music industries and heaps more!
fRETfEST participants will perform at QPAC's free live music program on the Melbourne Street Green with performers from each age group selected to perform at the Showcase Concert on the Cascade Court stage at QPAC in November. Participants also may be invited to play the fRETfEST circuit in gigs around S.E. Queensland.
Conditions
- Open to ages 14-17 (as at July 1 2010)
- Songs must be 100% original, written solely by the entrant, and rated G
- You will need an acoustic steel string guitar (and tuner) ready to plug and play
- Parental permission required
- Entry fee $30
