The winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Spring Awakening explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with poignancy and passion in an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock & roll.

Told through "the most gorgeous Broadway score this decade" (Entertainment Weekly), Spring Awakening has been exhilarating audiences across the globe like no other musical in years. Join this group of late 19th century German students as they navigate teenage self-discovery and coming of age in a powerful celebration of youth and rebellion in the daring, remarkable Spring Awakening.

Featuring a cast of Brisbane's finest professional and emerging talent, and brought to you by the award-winning creative team behind Oscar Theatre Company, this Spring Awakening will be one to remember.

WARNING: Coarse language, adult themes, sexual references, partial nudity

"Broadway will never be the same again!" New York Times

"Spring Awakening strikes me as easily the best new musical, in either London or New York, since Billy Elliot." The Guardian

Director: Emily Gilhome
Musical Director: David Law
Choreographer: Rodney Pratt
Designer: Tim Wallace
Lighting Designer: Dan Anderson
Featuring: Dash Kruck, Charles Sells, Siobhan Kranz, Louise Brehmer, Norman Doyle and others

"Despite the fact the play was written in the 19th century, it is really relevant," says Siobhan Kranz, who plays the lead role of Wendla Bergman. "There are so many moments that anyone who has been through their teenage years will relate to it. Plus, it isn't patronising and it doesn't portray those themes in that dazzling music theatre way."
