The Queensland Korean Orchestra combines the communities and traditions of Korean and European classical music. Since its inception five years ago, it has become the most successful multicultural orchestra in Queensland.
Joined by St. Peters Lutheran College Choral and the Korean Choir, and under conductor Sergei V.Korschmin, the Queensland Korean Orchestra will perform two programmes. Didgeridoo (William Barton) and Taepyeongso (a Korean traditional instrument), which will touch your heart with the spiritual essence of Korea and Australia.
Developed especially for this concert, the orchestra will also perform Jirisan Sun Rising, created by Australian composer Stephen Leek with words based on a poem by Lesley Synge.
This October, experience the traditional sounds of Korea and Australia and celebrate both countries Golden Jubilees.
