QPAC’s Out of the Box Festival for Children will be held from Tuesday 12 to Sunday 17 June 2012. The festival is a week of cultural activity crafted to celebrate and support children’s learning and foster a love of the performing arts through curiosity, discovery and serious play. It is a time when children take over and reinvent the cultural icons of our city as one great big playground full of fantastic workshops, artworks and activities that celebrate our connection with each other and our world.
2012 marks the 20th birthday of Out of the Box as well as the National Year of Reading, an Australia-wide Federal Government initiative. Out of the Box is pleased to support this by making the key theme of the 2012 festival Literacy.
Out of the Box is proud to collaborate with its many partners to present a showcase of experiences that are meaningful, lively, creative, and artistically rewarding. We join our partners and audiences on a discovery through the magic of books and story, narrative, performance and thoughtful play. Extending throughout the Cultural Centre precinct, Out of the Box is a week of cultural activity crafted to celebrate and support learning, play, curiosity and discovery for children and their families as they learn and grow together.
