NEW 2PM SHOWS NOW ON SALE

Following a sell-out season at the Sydney Opera House and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Hairy Maclary and Friends will be bounding off the page to the QPAC stage this summer.

Hairy Maclary and Friends is an adaptation of the much-loved Hairy Maclary children's books, by celebrated New Zealand writer, Lynley Dodd. The production features the characters from the books like Hercules Morse as big as a horse, Bottomley Potts covered in spots, Schnitzel von Krumm with the very low tum and Scarface Claw, the toughest tomcat in town.

With music, colourful costumes, singing and some of your favourite Hairy Maclary stories, this show is a must-see for young children and their families. Sing along and do the actions with all the characters from the books live on stage

"This is old-school children's theatre in all the right ways" The List (Edinburgh)

"A vibrant, fun-filled show that cleverly brings Lynley Dodd's much-loved children's books to life" Primary Times

"Fans of the storybooks cannot fail to enjoy this performance and every child should see this." ★★★★ One4Review

Children 18 months and under are free on the knee. All others must hold a ticket for admission.

The butcher was great and very cheerful but the show sadly didn't go much beyond dogs bouncing around the stage with a little stagework. The audience participation (song with actions) missed the mark with most of the audience, didn't make much of an impression overall w my child. A shame this is the only children's show on for the year at QPAC excluding ballet (we get Hairy Mc twice?)

This was wonderful! Best live children's theatre I have seen in some time. My little grandson was literally jumping out of his seat with excitement. Loved Miss Plum and Samuel Stone the butcher and all of the dogs were fantastic - and of course Scarface Claw - the toughest Tom in town! Brilliant!!
Wonderful performance

This is the most fantastic childs show I have even had the pleasure of seeing at Qpac. It had everything, singing, talking, acting, dancing, audience involvement and it was so well done there were no pauses. The only thing I would say was I was disappointed when it finished.
