Meet the cast of The Wizard of Oz
 |
The role of Dorothy will be played by new-comer Dana Musil. At the age of 17, Dana completed her first year of Harvest Rain's Musical Theatre Internship Program in 2011, where she wowed audiences with her inspired performance as Rona Lisa Peretti in Harvest Rain's production of THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. "I'm so excited to take on the role of Dorothy," says Dana. "I've watched the film all my life and always felt I was a lot like Dorothy, so this is just a dream come true." |
 |
Accompanying her on her journey down the yellow brick road will be Shaun Kohlman in the role of the Scarecrow. Audiences will remember Shaun for his performances as Doody in GREASE and Marty in DANI GIRL. This marks Shaun's return to the Playhouse stage after playing the role of Simon in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR this year before stepping into the role of Judas when the leading man broke his leg on opening night. |

Fresh from his acclaimed performance in Oscar Theatre Company's production of SPRING AWAKENING, Dan Venz will play the role of Tinman. While this is Dan's first production with Harvest Rain, he brings years of singing and dancing experience to the role, which he won by enduring a rigorous dance audition to find a performer who can physically bring the Tinman to life on stage. |
 |
The role of the Lion will be played by Matty Johnston, in what will be his first performance with Harvest Rain and his first performance on the QPAC stage. Matty brings a great voice and an incredible comic flair to the role made famous in the MGM film by the legendary Bert Lahr. |
Brisbane theatre favourite Penny Farrow will be "going green" as the Wicked Witch of the West, and her nemesis Glinda the Good Witch of the North will be played by Angela Harding, whose last performance with Harvest Rain was as the Narrator in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT at the Playhouse in 2009.
Fresh from his performance as Herod in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR this year, Steven Tandy will play the title role of the Wizard.
An ensemble comprising 30 of Queensland's best musical theatre performers will also take the journey to Oz, accompanied by a talented children's cast of 50 singing and dancing munchkins!
