RETURN TO BRISBANE CABARET FESTIVAL HOME PAGE

While writing her highly acclaimed memoir, All That Happened at Number 26, Denise Scott spent two torturous years reflecting on her life and she'll be buggered if all she ends up with is a book. And so Scotty, as she is known to family and friends, has reworked it for the stage.

Eczema! Poverty! Affairs! Alzheimer's! Number 26 promises something for everyone.

A key player in landmark Australian TV such as The Big Gig, Full Frontal and Tonight Live, Denise has in recent times been seen on Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation, Good News Week, The 7PM Project and ABCTV's Spicks and Specks.

Directed by Alan Brough with original music by Jordie Lane.

Denise Scott
Comedian/Broadcaster/Writer/Actor/Presenter

Denise Scott has been treading the boards for longer than she cares to remember, but it is this wealth of experience that makes her one the country's strongest live comic performers. Since her start in the biz in the early 1980's, Scotty has been making people laugh with her blend of personal stories and topical observations.

In 2004, Scotty received a Barry Award nomination for Best Show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival for her sold out festival hit, Scotty and Son, which featured her nineteen year-old son. She received a second nomination the following year for Denise Scott Gives Good Council

Denise also dipped her hand in the breakfast radio pot in 2006 for Vega 91.5.

Denise hit the road in 2008, playing a core part in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, touring in regional towns all throughout Australia and even performing in Singapore.

She also penned a book, All That Happened at Number 26, a memoir relaying various amusing tales of moving into a house with her husband, his circus equipment, a king-sized futon sans base, a Ventolin inhaler (to cope with stress-induced asthma), no savings and a newborn baby.

Following the success of the book, Scotty turned into a stage show, Number 26, and garnered rave reviews in Melbourne and Sydney.

In 2010, Scotty will continue to entertain with her regular panel role on the 7PM Project and tour Number 26 across the country.

"Denise Scott... only has to look as if she's going to say something and everyone laughs"
Sunday Herald Sun, Melbourne

"Scott was phenomenal"
Sydney Morning Herald

The Age, Melbourne
