QPAC Presents
STILL LIVE: Sculpture By Els Houwen

6 July to 11 September 2010
Tuesday to Saturday 10.00am to 4.00pm
Tony Gould Gallery, QPAC, South Bank

Two local, creative women - Els Houwen and Jean Tally - bring together the visual and performing arts in a dynamic, theatrical collaboration.

The gallery will be inhabited by whimsical, thoughtful and stylish figures, both small and life-size, created by Els Houwen.  The works are made of clay, built up from endless coils, worked and stretched, then fired, glazed and/or painted.

Choreographer and performer, Jean Tally, has created a theatrical response to the artworks, in a site specific work combining movement and instrumental elements.

A filmed version of these performances is incorporated into the exhibition, providing a constant source of interaction between the visual and performing arts.
