Register your interest to audition by sending us an email, telling us your full name, gender, voice type (if known) and email address.

We will then send you a full audition information pack and a link to an online registration form.

STEP 2: Audition

Auditions are generally held in small groups of 8 or 10 people. The atmosphere is always friendly and supportive.

You will be sent the sheet music for a short song, in a key suitable to your voice, that you will need to prepare and sing at the audition. Currently the required song is My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean. You will also be asked to sing a few vocal scales.

Successful applicants will be required to possess a mix of the following skills:

(a) Vocal skills - These skills will be measured by the quality of the applicant’s preparation and performance of the required scales.

(b) Performance skills - These skills will be measured by the quality of the applicant’s presentation of the required audition repertoire.

(c) Team skills - These skills will be measured via a series of questions asked during the audition.

Based on the above criteria, suitably skilled applicants will be short listed for available positions within the QPAC Choir. Final selection will depend upon a number of factors including the requirement for the particular type of voice in each section (soprano, alto, tenor, bass).

The audition will only take about 15 minutes. Don't worry if you have never done one before. We want you to feel comfortable and will keep it as friendly and relaxed as possible. Your audition will be with the chorusmaster Alison Rogers.

You will receive an email shortly after your audition advising you of the outcome.

STEP 3: Pay

STEP 4: Begin

Once you have been accepted and have paid, then you may join rehearsals. Prior to commencing rehearsals, we will also provide you with further information about participating in the QPAC Choir.
