How to Join

Auditions are generally held prior to the commencement of each term.

STEP 1 - Register

Register your interest to audition by sending us an email, telling us your full name and phone number.
Please send the registration by email to: choir@qpac.com.au

We will add you to the QPAC Choir audition waiting list and will send an email notifying you when the next set of auditions will be.

 

STEP 2: Audition

You will be asked to do three things at the audition:

(a) Vocal skills - Sing through a short vocal exercise given to you on the day. We will listen to the sound of your voice, as well as check that you are carrying the tune alright and keeping in time.

(b) Performance skills - Bring along a short excerpt of a song of about 12 bars length (a chorus or verse of a song is good). It can be a simple song. What is most important is that you feel comfortable with what you sing on your own, without a backing tape or piano accompaniment.

(c) Team skills - Have a chat with us just to make sure that you are comfortable working as part of the choir, communicating with other choir members, turning up on time, giving your attention to singing tasks, and enjoying the experience.

The audition will only take about 5 minutes. Don't worry if you have never done one before. We want you to feel comfortable and will keep it as friendly and relaxed as possible. Your audition will be with the chorusmaster Alison Rogers. You may elect to attend audition one-on-one or you can bring a friend.

You will receive an email shortly after your audition advising you of the outcome.

STEP 3: Pay

Payment of the membership fee of $50 will be required prior to the first rehearsal. To pay, call QTIX on 136 246 or pay online at qtix.com.au

STEP 4: Begin

Once you have been accepted and have paid, then you may join rehearsals. Prior to commencing rehearsals, we will also provide you with further information about participating in the QPAC choir.
