It's been almost twenty years since Hot Shoe Shuffle first wowed audiences around the world.

It's song and dance at its very best and most exciting. It's time to get a whole new generation on their feet cheering and applauding.

If you've seen the show you'll need no convincing to see it again, and if you haven't you're in for the best night you'll spend at the theatre in 2013.

Returning to the stage for the first time in 15 years, David Atkins will play DEXTER a role originally played by Jack Webster. Jersey Boys star Bobby Fox will play SPRING, the eldest of the tap brothers, a role originally created by David Atkins and Hairspray's Jaz Flowers will play APRIL the long lost sister.

A London West End Olivier Award, an Aria Award for Best Soundtrack, 3 Green Room Awards and an Advance Australia Award, the show's credentials are outstanding.

The hits of the Big Band Era...and the hottest tapping you'll ever see with a brilliant Australian cast.

"Wow, whatever multi-vitamin those guys are taking, I want to be taking it, I want to have what they're having...boy, what a great night out..." Damien Rossi, The Sunday Mail

The seven Tap Brothers (Spring, Slap, Buck, Wing, Tip, Tap and Slide) learn of the death of their long-absent father, who has apparently left them a fortune. The only catch is that to receive their inheritance, they must rehearse and perform his legendary 'Act’ – the Hot Shoe Shuffle!! In addition, the must also include their long-lost sister, April, into The Act. The only problem is – she has two left feet!

Coached by a friend of their fathers, Max Renfield, the brothers eventually overcome their resentment and suspicion of April, and she becomes part of the family and the show.

A twist in the plot reveals that the inheritance tale is a ruse to bring the family back together again, and the Hot Shoe Shuffle is finally performed triumphantly, in the tradition of the best Broadway musicals.

"Thunderous applause, whoops, whistles, cheers and a standing ovation greeted the revival of David Atkins Hot Shoe Shuffle"
"If you love dynamic, muscular dancing then this is the show for you. A cast of new faces brought enormous energy and continued virtuosity to the art of tap dancing that can only be described as brilliant."
Stage Whispers

"The cast were amazing. The subtle nuances that each cast member brought to their character added real value to the production."
"This musical has changed my view on tap being the 'boring' brother to other dance genres. David Atkins, you have revived tap and transformed me into a "tap lover."
Dance Hub Magazine

"An amazing show, I loved every bit of it. Great audience participation and stunning costumes."

Recognized in the 2003 Queen’s Birthday Honours with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to the entertainment industry, David Atkins is Australia’s most awarded producer, choreographer and director. He has starred in, produced, directed, choreographed and created more than 20 musicals in Australia, Britain, the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. In 2000, Juan Antonio Samaranch, the president of the International Olympic Committee, presented David with a Gold Olympic Pin for his outstanding and innovative work as artistic director and producer of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. David is the first and only Australian to win an MTV award for choreography. His original production Hot Shoe Shuffle was the first Australian musical on London’s West End, for which he won the prestigious Olivier Award. David has directed and produced some of the largest live events of this decade, across continents, languages and international audiences, including the Ceremonies of the Doha 2006 Asian Games, the Opening, Closing and Victory ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the Opening Ceremony of Shanghai 2010 World Expo, and most recently, the 2011 Moscow City Day Anniversary Celebrations, the Opening Ceremony of the 2011 New Zealand Rugby World Cup and the Ceremonies of the 12th Arab Games Doha 2011.

David is the only Australian director and producer whose work on Olympic Ceremonies won Emmy awards, with three wins for the 2010 Vancouver Opening Ceremony. His work in Moscow, Auckland, Doha, Shanghai and Vancouver also earned him two consecutive “Best Export Productions” for 2010 and 2011, as well as the highly prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the annual Australian Event Awards. Earlier this year, the Middle East Event Awards recognised David’s work on the Arab Games Opening Ceremony with an award for “Best Arts & Cultural Event.”

Over and above the enormous body of theatrical, arena and live event work that David has directed and produced, beyond the vast number of awards and nominations, he has revolutionised the way shows are created and produced.

Jaz Flowers graduated from the University of Ballarat’s Music Theatre course in 2008 and has consistently garnered roles in several productions to critical acclaim. Most notably, Jaz won the lead role of ‘Tracey Turnblad’ in the multi award winning production of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment and Roadshow Live’s Hairspray for which she won Sydney Theatre Awards – Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical, and received a Helpmann Award Nomination for Best Female Actor in a Musical. Other productions that Jaz has performed in include Gordon Frost Organisation’s Fame – The Musical as “Mabel’, the Neil Armfield directed Shane Warne The Musical, and Terence O’Connell’s Cabaret as ‘Frauline Schneider’. Owner of a powerful voice, most recently Jaz appeared as one of the contestants in the hit television show The Voice.

Hailing from Longford Ireland and after receiving 4 Irish Dance Championships and touring with productions such as Riverdance and Dance on the Moon, Bobby began his professional musical theatre career in Australia in 2002, featuring in roles such as Mamma Mia, Leader of the Pack, Dusty - The Original Pop Diva. and We Will Rock You. Bobby was then hand picked by the man himself to play the role of Frankie Valli in the smash hit musical The Jersey Boys, playing to sold out seasons and rave reviews in Melbourne & Sydney.

Hot Shoe Shuffle, was actually the most incredible show I have seen at QPAC. It was absolutely amazing, the precision in all the dances as well as the vocal ability of all involved was incredible. Everyone involved did an amazing job. Well done.

This was seriously one of the best shows I've ever seen in my whole life. I've seen a lot of theatre but these guys are the cream of the crop. By the end of the show I was on my feet roaring and clapping so hard that my hands hurt. My baby brother, who started tap lessons earlier this year, was inspired beyond words. He was just as blown away as I was. An unmissable show. Seriously. Go see it! :)

Sensational tapping! Perhaps the second half is a little long. Finale number is fantastic. Great vocals as always from the beautiful Jazz Flowers. I took 3 teenagers (all dancers) with me who loved it as well. Well worth taking the whole family.

The skill and professionalism that is on show as part of this production is amazing. If you love tap and love the old classics like "Don't mean a thing if Ain't Got that Swing," this is a must see. Thank you David Atkins, once again, and thank you to the super talented cast.
